Long Island Expressway, Exits 63 to 67, Brookhaven, NY -- For NYSDOT, as part of an environmental assessment, alternative highway service road and ramp improvements were analysed for noise impacts. Noise measurements were conducted at 20 sites, computer modeling for existing and future noise levels was performed, and a noise barrier was designed to mitigate impacts on residences. Evaluation of 26 alternative noise barrier designs was performed and six barriers were found to be acoustically and economically feasible, which were recommended for construction.

NYSDOT On-Call Noise Analysis for Region 8 -- Type II noise barrier evaluation study for a 12-mile section of the Sprain Brook Parkway between Yonkers and Hawthorne, NY. 15-minute noise measurements were conducted at 28 representative locations as part of a study to identify locations where noise levels exceed FHWA criteria and sound barriers would be acoustically and economically feasible.

Route 347 Reconstruction, Suffolk County, NY -- Reconstruction of a 15-mile segment of a major suburban arterial in Hauppauge, NY. Conducted 24-hour continuous noise measurements at three locations to determine the peak noise hours. Also conducted 20-minute noise measurements at 75 locations as part of a full noise analysis including development of an existing conditions noise model using TNM, prediction of future noise levels and evaluation and acoustic design of sound barriers.

NYSDOT On-Call Noise Analysis for Region 1 -- Type II noise barrier evaluation study for entire NYSDOT Region 1. Inventory and prioritization of potential noise barrier locations along I-87, I-90 and I-81. Noise measurements and preliminary modeling using TNM to identify locations where noise barriers are justified. Conducted simultaneous 24-hour continuous noise measurements at six locations and performed 15-minute noise measurements at selected locations.
