Professional Background

Mr. Hussain is a traffic and highway engineer with a broad range of experience. He has performed traffic, parking and pedestrian analysis for projects in large metropolitan areas. He has also been involved in the planning, design, estimation and bidding process for major highways, as well as supervised and inspected construction and maintenance work for highways and bridges. He has investigated causes for highway accident patterns and developed recommendations for safety improvements and elimination of accident-related geometric and signage deficiencies in the roadway. He has conducted studies of nighttime highway construction work and developed improved techniques for performing life cycle cost analysis of pavements.

Mr. Hussain was employed from 1/89 through 7/97 by the Communications and Works Department of the Government of Balochistan, Pakistan as an Executive Engineer. During this period he was responsible for traffic operations, planning, estimation, rehabilitation, design, inspection, pavement design, and tendering processes for all local roads, major highways, bridges, culverts and buildings within a 50,000 sq. mile area. He supervised an engineering staff of 15 and a construction staff of 600 workers.
